Jim Lumley joined Pro's Ranch Markets in late October 2005, bringing to the company 27 years of accounting and finance experience in the retail industry, predominantly in retail grocery. Having grown up in “the business” (his father was a meat cutter, store manager, and meat specialist for the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, A&P, and he worked at A&P through high school and Kroger through college) Jim’s background includes a nice blend of “in-store” operational experience along with his accounting and finance experience. Knowing numbers in Jim’s position is obviously of great importance, but Jim’s “added value” is his understanding of what goes on in the store, the individual tasks required to service our customers and the purpose behind the systems that help create the numbers.

Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Economics from Grove City College, Grove City PA and an MBA degree from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix AZ. He completed several management training courses, qualifying him at the time as a store manager assessor, while working for The Kroger Company and more recently completed inter-personal and management classes through Dale Carnegie’s Northern California regional training facilities. He has taught Managerial Accounting (cost accounting) at Shasta College in Redding California. He is married, has two daughters and two sons and six grandchildren.
